Large Scale Outdoor Heuristic Play

This training session will enable practitioners  to support young children to make sense of what they see, hear, smell and feel. Large Scale Outdoor Heuristic Play enables children time, space and opportunity to create, manipulate and control an array of multi-sensory learning experiences within a world  and learning environment that is ever changing due to weather, seasons and environment.
Practitioners will be given the tools to:
  • Create a heuristic play collection within the appropriate objects to include and the right ages to introduce them,
  •  Understand the important role of the adult, and how to share this knowledge with parents, Reflect a wide range of inspiring ideas for creating ways to develop Heuristic play with older children and those with different needs.
  •  Develop participants understanding and knowledge of the history of Heuristic Play.

Lunchtime Supervisor Training Programme

3D Modelling with Google Sketch Up

Outstanding Teaching Series 2014/2015
Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT)/ Recently Qualified Teacher (RQT) Focus:  Challenge Within Lessons

Each term, a  training session will take place for NQTs/RQTs delivered by NQTs/RQTs which will look at how to achieve outstanding progress in the classroom. Using video footage from real-life classroom situations, the first session looks at challenge within a lesson and how classrooms can be organised to maximise the impact of adults and resources. Though this is aimed at teachers at the beginning of their career, the course is appropriate for all teachers.

Geotrails


A practical workshop using Google Earth to create geotrails. Attendees will use images/photographs, voiceover, and Google Earth Mapping software to create virtual tours across the globe. The workshop supports using Geographical Information System (GIS) in addition to computing elements.
