School Direct Tuition Route - QTS is a school-led training path where you can apply to train as a teacher with a course that adheres to your individual needs. The new school-led teacher training programme has allowed the North Liverpool Teaching School Partnership to create a unique Early Years/KS1 (3-7 yrs) or Primary (5-11 yrs)course geared to give trainees the best start in their teaching career. Working alongside North West Shares SCITT we offer high-quality school placements across our Teaching School Partnership.

This is a one year full-time course, specialising in teaching across the 3-7 or 5-11 age range with recommendation for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) upon successful completion. You will develop your skills and knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and Primary National Curriculum with the help of an expert class mentor over the 37 weeks, enhancing your skills and expertise across the Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

The Facts
- The accrediting provider for QTS is North West Shares SCITT.
- You will need to pay tuition fees to cover the cost of your course.
- Modes of study: Full time only.
How will the School Direct Programme enhance your initial teacher training and support your future career in teaching?
The emphasis of our School Direct Programme is on getting to know our trainees well: understanding their needs, identifying their strengths, and ultimately assessing in which school they would be best placed as a newly qualified teacher (NQT) to achieve their goals and make the biggest impact. Our course is structured to give trainees a wealth of school experience and opportunities that they would not necessarily get on a mainstream  programme.

- Finding a Job - We will work with Liverpool’s Local Authority to identify schools that are looking to recruit NQTs for academic year 2020/2021.
